A wedding newspaper tells both sides of the story
Herewith begins the sweet tale of a boy named Riaan and a girl called Mandy who met, fell in love, and now plan to spend the rest of their lives together living happily ever after.
The couple had an intimate wedding which allowed guests to stay overnight, and decided to share their love story with their guests by printing a custom A3 wedding newspaper, which was left in each guest’s hotel room to read before the ceremony.
With both sides of the story told by each and lovingly put together by the romantics at NewsFavor.com, we learn that there are definitely two sides to tying the proverbial knot!
In the words of Riaan, how they first met six years ago at a local rugby club was enough to make time stand still and everything go silent. The story goes that once he saw her, he knew that he had to get to know her!
After seeing her enter the club that night, he suddenly felt an urgency to find out who she was and where she came from. But without so much as a glance in his direction after she passed his table, Riaan knew that whatever he did, it would have to be good enough to make her notice him.
Running ideas through his mind, Riaan waited impatiently until his one and only opportunity to forge a meeting with her would be possible. As she stood up from her table and headed in one direction, Riaan gracefully and without arising suspicion amongst his table of friends, leapt from his seat and gunned it towards Mandy. Without a moment’s thought of what to do or what to say, he walked up to her, close enough so that they were nearly touching, and broke out into “the absolute bestest smile I could possibly give”. And to Riaans’ surprise, she returned the gesture! And just like that it was over – they both went on their merry own ways back to their separate tables, with nothing but a smile shared.
Before calling it a night, Riaan knew that he had to man-up and go and speak to her. Plucking up all of his courage, Riaan did just that! With the conversation flowing, Riaan finally asked Mandy for her number. Not in the habit of giving her number to strangers, she politely declined and playing down his disappointment, he instead coolly offered her his number. Over the next few weeks, phonecalls were exchanged until they met again and ended their meeting with their very first goodnight kiss. High on love and floating back to his car, Riaan remembered that the doors of his car were not working and the only way to get into his car after it was locked, was to enter through the boot. Bidding Mandy farewell, Riaan casually climbed into his boot, crawled onto the back seat and into the drivers’ seat before taking off into the night.
The surprise proposal amidst treetops and waterfalls was all that Mandy had ever dreamed about – to finally be found by the love that she had always been longing for! Both happy and hopeful to spend the rest of their lives together, the sweet tale of how a boy named Riaan and a girl called Mandy met and fell in love is forever preserved in a unique wedding favor that they can enjoy for years to come.
